are you on the verge of a transition that you’d like to move through gracefully and intentionally?
Julie Neale led Adult Reflection circles at the school I was leading for years. The beautiful way in which she held space for our teachers to practice open and direct communication, curiosity and care for each other was transformative for my staff. Julie brings a brilliant mixture of belief in people, and the ability to delve into uncomfortable yet deep waters to her work with teams. She is not afraid to ask hard questions and be vulnerable with herself. The way she models the practices of adult reflection gives others the courage and wisdom to do the same. I have been so grateful for her steady, thoughtful and always prepared hands!
“The first words that come to mind when I think of Julie are curious, engaged, open and brilliant listener. She has an uncanny ability to ask just the right question to get you thinking in a wholly unique and thoughtful way and our conversations always lead to hidden gems I didn’t even know were there.”

“Julie just listened. Asked me, what changes do you want to make. What I really like, Julie doesn’t push any opinions or tell me what to do…she asked me the right questions that allowed me to talk myself thru the process. Assumed that I had the right answers, and needed support to use tools I already have. Set goals, find job, move. Accomplished all my goals. Night shift, day shift, school…sometimes going three days without sleep. Needed changes. She helped me get clarity, state out loud what I wanted, never had done goal setting. First person to help understand and get on track with goal setting.
Third session 8-12 months later. Julie pointed out I had achieved my goals! Made me feel good about it. Made me stop to acknowledge my accomplishments. Don’t usually take time to do this. Stop and smell the roses. This was really powerful to me.
Julie is a truly caring and loving person. Passionate about her work. Listens, you can tell that she is truly listening based on questions she asks.”
“My work with Julie has been life changing.
Before we started working together, I was on a quest to resolve what felt like a total bifurcation of my mom voice from my professional life and pathway- which was a bit bananas given that I was working in family health.
I loved Julie’s framework – the E.P.I.C. life. I loved her politics – embracing social justice. And I loved how clearly skilled and inclusive Julie was and is. I also deeply appreciated her integration of technology – her services/programs are completely accessible to a busy working single mama.
After our time together, I started a non-profit based on my experiences as a medical mom. I leveraged that voice and perspective to:
- win first place in NIH Rare Disease PR Campaign
- get an appointment as the parent voice on a State of California Children’s Health Advisory Panel for Medicaid policy and spending
- and take a role on the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Family Advisory Council.
I am incredibly grateful for getting to work with Julie. I love the parts of myself that make me a good mom (glitter, gratitude, and whimsy) and it’s truly been a joy to bring those parts of myself front and center into my work and advocacy.”
